Do you want to keep your dog busy and have fun with him, but your four-legged friend is not exactly a sports cannon or is physically handicapped? Then you should try degility - this dog sport is not about performance or winning. Find out what Degility is all about here.

Degility: what is it?

Degility is a dog sport that is based on agility and mobility in terms of the exercises and obstacles, but does not value performance pressure and perfection. At Agility, a specific course is set up, which your four-legged friend must complete as quickly as possible and without errors. With Mobility your dog has to overcome hurdles similar to those with Agility, but he has as much time as he needs - the main thing is that the task is carried out as accurately and correctly as possible.

With degility, however, it is not only of secondary importance how long it takes your four-legged friend to overcome the obstacles, but also whether he has overcome them without errors. It is important that you and your dog enjoy the joy and strengthen communication with each other.

For example, it looks like the following video:

Why dog sport is suitable for everyone

The various stations of the degility course are designed in such a way that they correspond to the four-legged friend's individual physical performance. That means, for example, if your dog is not able to run as fast as the English Bulldog due to its breed or has to take care of its joints like a Saint Bernard, degility is a great "decelerated" alternative to agility. Dog sport is also ideal for old dogs, as this allows the four-legged seniors to remain in training without overexerting themselves. This also applies to dogs with a physical handicap.

The four-legged friend's physical weaknesses are taken into account, while the mental strengths are encouraged. It is important that you always pay attention to your cold mustache and whether he has difficulty with an exercise. In return, your fur nose must listen to you during the course, so that an interplay arises. The communication between you and your dog and thus also your bond and friendship is strengthened - and that's really fun.
